Given that Wake really started booming in the 70s and that the life expectancy for concrete driveways is 40 years, I suspect that I am not the only person here on C-D in the Triangle facing this issue. While I have done my best to patch my mother's driveway on her 1974 home, it's really time to rip it out and install a new one.
Does anyone have any suggestions and experiences to share? I am particularly interested to know how much this might cost. For context, this is an ~50ft driveway to a one car garage with a side parking pad in a typical north Raleigh neighborhood.

We had several people in our neighborhood who chose to get their driveways plowed last year. Driveways that were only 3-4 years old were damaged. A couple of those homeowner's decided to fix the concrete by replacing the entire driveway.

They used this company Concrete Contractors Raleigh NC | We Do Concrete Cheap we saw the trucks and the results looked very good.

Can't comment on the price, but it required 3 days work with multiple workers and multiple trucks. I can't imagine it was cheap.

Glad we decided to not get the snow cleared on our driveway. Cheaper and easier to just wait the two days for the snow to melt.

Figure on $6000+.

And, finding a contractor who will prep, pour, and finish properly is the challenge.

You can save some money if you're willing to do the demo yourself?

Why not? 50' isn't THAT long. A jack hammer and/or skid steer will make short work of it...
