I'm interested, too. I don't like dogs whining and circling dinner tables.

Maybe look up dog friendly patios, and call those that are not on those lists? I'm gonna guess that the ones that are more about dining than drinking will be not dog friendly.

PS - I'm not being sarcastic about your request. Truly I'm not. If the dog friendly thing bothers you, I commend you for seeking out what you want, and patronizing those places that offer what you are looking for.

First place that comes to mind (probably because I go there so frequently) is Patrick Janes. Technically not totally dog free, but they have two fairly separate outdoor dining areas. One is right in front of the restaurant, and people do occasionally (frequently?) have dogs there. The other is the open patio area that is only accessible through the restaurant. I've never seen dogs in there.

Look for rooftop patios.

Mellow Mushroom doesn't allow dogs on their patios.

Serendipity in Cary once specifically turned me away because I had my dog...sooo they are a big no for me, but sounds right up your alley in terms of not only not being dog friendly, but flat out anti dog.
