I was surprised to read that they are no longer selling these in the US.

I would have liked to read that blog. (no clue why they are disallowed)
I also grew up in upstate ny and had shamrock shakes like everyday....moved down here 4 years ago and havnt had one since and it makes me very sad. i am driving from greenville to charlotte on friday and i WILL find one. my research leads me to believe they are sold in the raleigh/durham greensboro area if i find one i will let you know.....and if anyone knows where to get one in NC please share bc all of us yankees that moved down here love them!
I talked to a friend that owns a bunch of McDonald's up in Jersey. He said that up there the regional owners vote on things like the Shamrock Shake to decide if their area will have it or not. His area decided against it. Not sure if this is the case in the Triangle, but I would not be surprised.
Any luck finding them? I noticed that the McDonald's here are selling them. I had one last night to see what the hoopla was about. It wasn't too bad! An interesting combination of lime sherbet and mint.
I was in Stick Boy Bakery in Fuquay the other day complaining about not being able to get shamrock shakes in NC (I am from Chicago). They attempted to make one for me and they got it VERY close. I would actually say Stick Boys is better than the origional. They got it so close I have gone back more times then I would like to admit for another one.Their address is Stick Boy Bread Co. | 127 South Main Street | Fuquay-Varina | NC | 27526The web site is Stick Boy Bread Company | Fuquay-Varina, NC
This thread got me thinking about getting a Shamrock Shake, as I live in New England. I mentioned it to my wife, so she picked me up one on Saturday.
It was good. Not great, but good. Another three bucks in the coffers for Mickey D's thanks to this forum.
