Have you been? This place is a gem! My husband took me for the first time the other day and it was so good! Now I can't stop thinking of a reason to go back and get more.

Med Grill & Grocery

I've been once - it was pretty good! I prefer Neomonde/Sassool since that's closer to me in Raleigh but not a bad option for Mediterranean food if I'm ever in the Southpointe area. Sort of a hole in the wall place on that road haha

Definitely a hole in the wall kind of place. I thought we were heading into someone's house.
Neomonde does have better baklava. The chicken curry was really good and nice and spicy. The Med Grill and Grocery reminded me of getting a Donner kabob in France - of course the one owner is from Algeria, so he is basically French.

Gem is an understatement. I LOVE that place.

IMO, they have better Gyro's than Neomonde, hands-down (no pun intended). Better Schwarma too.

Neomonde (and Sasool) have better salads and sides, in my opinion.

I love going to Med Groc when school is in session, watching all the kids running around and having fun. Chaotic, but in a great way!

IMHO, Bosphorus in DT Cary has the best Baklava. https://www.yelp.com/biz/bosphorus-cary

All these places are great ethnic eateries; we patronize them all and feel lucky to have them all in the area. They all make for some tough competition... especially for "generic American style eateries" in the area -topic of other recent threads about struggling area restaurants. We can only eat so much.

I love Bosphorus! Probably my favorite place to eat in the downtown Cary area. La Shish in Cary is also fantastic.

And the best part about these, and most authentic med places, is that the food does not "weigh you down". I can eat a lot and still feel "clean and healthy"... almost like I could walk out the door and do a 1/2 marathon. I also have this "fresh, clean and healthy" feeling after eating sushi (fish on rice... not the roll things).

If you like Bosphorus, you might like Istanbul on Kildaire. It went through several iterations (the Afghan place, etc.) before the current one, but it's good. Very similar in taste to Bosphorus, IMO.

I can't put my finger on it, but I lost some interest in Bosphorus when they expanded. I can't say why, so it may just be mental on my part. My first trip to Instanbul seemed more satisfying.

Have you tried Med Deli in Chapel Hill? I like it better.

That's my favorite restaurant in the Triangle - just too far away from me in Raleigh to go constantly. I love their variety which gives it an advantage over Neomonde.
