One is for suits and shirts. Where I used to live it was sometimes cheaper to have things tailored then buy off the rack and have them altered. Especially shirts.
After spending more time than I should have visiting outlets and malls and coming up almost empty-handed, I may need to consider this. I had more and better choices off the rack with the same (America!) makes overseas than here so far.
Plus a lot of what I saw looks like time stood still since the mid-80s, the styles are either too staid or too tacky. I'm talking about office wear.
The other is for basic repairs.
To date I have had the dry cleaners do basic work such as zipper fixes and hems, I don't know current US prices for this kind of thing, but felt the cost for these were a bit on the high side.
Lee's tailor shop on western boulevard. I think it was around $50 the last time I brought a suit in there, but that's about the same as the store charges and she does nicer work.
