I saw the General board’s Amazon thread updated but didn’t think much of it. Then I saw ours was updated and wondering what was going on. I will say the rubbernecker in me is all eye’s, I’m not getting sucked in to that vortex again.

Have you guys been following the story? It's pretty funny. Basically NYC reps such as AOC are coming out against it saying it will displace their voter pool. Never mind the the net benefit to NYS will be $24b. This is huge. The governor is crapping bricks right now. Other reps are calling to pull their $3b in tax incentives to fund social projects. When Amazon was faced with the "head tax" in Seattle they abruptly stopped building there and upped their 2nd HQ expansion plans. They don't want to be used as a tax cash cow, and who can blame them?

I sincerely hope no other city thinks Amazon is potentially coming to them. Amazon already made everyone look like fools with this co-HQ2 thing. Now that they look foolish, they will just go all-in on NoVa to end this pr nightmare.

How can you trust Amazon at this point with its desire to jerk around anyone it deals with plus a messy divorce that could leave more questions than answers for the company and its shareholders.

What is scary to me is that we have to hear about Pictures surfacing describing Bezos manhood.... spare us all and get rid of Prime please.

It’s almost non-news in the sense Amazon is so full of crap when it comes to HQ2.

Though a slight part of me hopes Amazon picks Atlanta and backfills any space lost by SunTrust. If this was any other company, it’d be shocking and I’d be excited at potentially poaching the HQ 1.5

Yup.

But I do love how NY can never leave well enough alone and continually has to shoot itself in the foot.

So is Bezos looking at Raleigh again now? What ramped up this thread again? And, I don't see the big deal about the Bezos selfie scandal. Ole one eye e-mailed a pic of the ole one eye, so what?

Well...

He and the Missus were embarking on an amicable divorce.
And, then this.
And, maybe she stands to hold 8% of Amazon, community property and all.

Was she already aware of his selfie habits and partners? Is she peevish about the news?
Maybe 8% of the company may be cranky?

Markets dislike uncertainty.

But is her cut of the pie really influenced by his choice of side dessert?

I mean, most of the time if a guy is smart enough to pull off a company like Amazon, he's smart enough to get the separation agreement terms carved in stone the moment things go south, regardless of who makes the first dash for the door.

I'm just not seeing how it's anything more than a gossip event. Let's say she does hold 8% of Amazon. Do shareholders think to themselves "she's a woman scorned! She's likely to try to set that 8% on fire just to make a hormone addled-point!". So now old one-eye feels shunned by NYC... BFD. I bet wherever he chooses is going to somewhere with a decent sugarbaby population. Old one-eye doesn't like to sit at home watching Amazon Prime all night you know, old one-eye has work to do.
