there are 7 hotels in downtown Raleigh, if you count the Aloft at NC State and the Days Inn (which I'd strongly caution against).

here's the R-Line map, and they show where the buses are currently (there are 2). The museums are located within about a 4 block area, and that includes Marbles Kids museum. The Gregg Art Museum just opened, and it's 100 yards from Aloft.

The NC Art Museum, and it's surrounding park, is a great choice to visit - it's not downtown, though, so Uber to it.

As far as tourist attractions...I don't know that this is the area for that. But if I were visiting I'd visit downtown Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.

We're not really a vacation hotspot, to be honest.

Good life, your posting history indicates that you probably live in NYC. Take the NYC public transport that you are used to, cut it by 95% and you've got Raleigh's system. In other words, what you want just doesn't exist here. Make other plans (preferably a car, especially since downtown parking is easy and cheap.)
Understood. I have to take cabs. I am not driving in an unfamiliar place.

Like others have said, public transportation is pretty lacking ( I didn't realize they don't even have a stop at the freaking art museum!). Uber/Lyft will be your friend unless you rent a car.
Nice. I want to check out Black on Black V2. For a place where there is nothing to do, you guys have quite a bit going on. I like to be entertained.

I know. Days Inn freaks me out. I am not staying there no matter how cheap it is. Most of the hotels in the downtown area are sold out. I am going to go North. I am waiting for my boss to approve the day so I can book my ticket.
