Hah it was actually my family who ran the operation in its hey day 80s and before with crystal beach and the glass bottom boat stuff I was born in the 80s so a lot of that is before my time but I always found it interesting people of a certain age who have fond memories vacationing there
My folks used to go to White Lake sometimes when we lived in Warsaw (1998-2000). I always liked it. I drove past it 2 weeks ago when I was passing by on US-701 on the way to Goldsboro from my cousin's place in Clarkton. My grandma also liked Elizabethtown.

So that's what happened to Piggly Wiggly! I passed through Clinton 2 weeks ago for the first time since 2000 and was wondering what became of Piggly Wiggly. Mystery solved!
I didn't. I went expecting to eat at the Piggly Wiggly but to my surprise it was now Carlie C's. I didn't complain either because the fried chicken was pretty darn tasty.
Carlie C's is pretty decent. We used to go to the one in Goldsboro all the time when we lived there.

Awesome yeah it’s a good community in that it still represents that “trailer at the lake “ mentality or lots of families sharing one pier instead of million dollar houses though there is that
Elizabethtown is nice too in that it’s maintained a functional downtown for a town its size it’s also on a bluff over the cape fear so you can actually get a nice vista if you know where to look
