I have 2 old tube TVs that I need to get rid of. I'd like to donate them as they still work well, but I am aware that they've been obsolete for years now, and there may not be any takers.
Does anyone know a place in the Triangle area that would take them? Or if I can't find any takers, how do I dispose of them? County landfill?
Are they trying to avoid the hassle of a future expected failure and transport hassle and fee?
Is their need so small and working non-tube TVs so easy to obtain?

Keep in mind that you can buy a 32" Samsung Smart TV for about $200. Or a 40" for a less than $300. That's new tv's not refurbished, 2017 models.
PS - my brother also had the big CRT units for his old computers. Nobody would take them, either, so off they went to Best Buy who charged him $25 to dump it.
