Really, anywhere in the Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) is going to be okay for him. True, a lot of Durham and parts of Raleigh can be dangerous, but even in Chapel Hill there are murders, as you may have heard. The Triangle as a whole is much safer than most places. The places he'd want to avoid would be completely obvious, and as always, a little common sense goes a long way.

Again, I concur with maxpower above. Anyplace in the Triangle is going to be OK for him. But if he's looking to be close to work, there are a ton of apartments and rental town houses in the Morrisville and Brier Creek areas. BTW, isn't Brier Creek technically in Durham County?! LOL! Or is it one of those border communities which goes both ways?

Brier Creek is in Wake County, although it is *really* close to Durham County.

So close that DATA buses (Durham transit system) serve Brier Creek shopping centers.
