I don’t know. I think it’s common but not maliciously. I don’t think most people care that much or follow. They just hear on the news Apple will be announced in NC imminently which is pretty much what the report was. People hear from people who heard from someone....

How many of you cared about Arch Capital being announced with 365 jobs avg. salary 106,000? I don’t even think there is a thread on it. That’s just last week. Charlotte and Raleigh are getting loads of these announcements. But no one cares unless it’s banking in Charlotte or tech in Raleigh in forums like these about urban cities. And in day to day life. I don’t reallt think most people care about Apple or amazon in Raleigh or Ally bank or US Bank in CLT. But I bet they do make comments That might be about things they casuallty hear and run with it.

Coupled with the Army loss, the Apple delay is creating a growing sense of angst among multiple sources.

Has something has gone wrong?

That possibility can’t be ruled out.

One source well connected to the Apple process says there is a “technicality” that has brought the process to a standstill.

Secrecy has cloaked most of the the Apple and Amazon project discussion for months, but right now sources are left wondering.

“It is totally in the hands of Apple,” a perplexed executive who would be involved in any Apple project said Monday evening.

“Confused” is how another executive described the Apple status. “Everyone thinks it is a done deal. Why hasn’t it been announced?”

I suspect the Apple deal will still happen. But the press here is bush league. Really need to stop with all these bs articles. They clearly did more harm than good so far with this Apple thing.

Agreed. The media is only interested in theater. In fact, if Apple does not come here it is a benefit to the local media. They can blame the legislature/mayor/city council/etc/etc/etc for failing. Makes for a neat and prepackaged narrative that can be milked for a year.

Want to paste some key points since most of us will hit the pay wall?

Tip: Most of the time you can find the article in Google and look at the cached version - however this article doesn't yet appear to be in Google.

"...probably a "Go," with final details quietly being ironed out."

Incentives. Timeline of development. Specifics on real estate acquisition.

Pro tip:
Spoiler
I pay because their news is important to me.

Thanks for the help

Btw linking to a pay-walled site and then suggesting people pay, is probably against forum rules.
