What the actual whaat? Clearly, laughably, you don’t know Durham. Durham has a huge and thriving black middle/upper class. Neighborhoods like Fairfield and Treyburn with 500 K to 1, million homes have way more black people per neighborhood than you’re going to find in Cary. Just a fact.

Neighborhoods like Fairfield and Treyburn with 500 K to 1, million homes have way more black people per neighborhood than you’re going to find in Cary. Just a statistical fact. The mayor has been black for years. Lots of black professors at NCCU. I honestly don’t even know why I’m wasting my energy explaining Durham to you! That was just one of the most outrageously ignorant statements I have come across in a while, and it’s just wrong not to set the record straight .
I don't know why your explaining the city I live in to me either.
I live in fairfield I have some black neighbors very nice most people are white however
also the mayor is white
and if you think most of the black folks in durham are middle and upper class YOU are hilariously mis informed
Ok so Bell left office a month ago after serving in office for 16 years, I’ll give you that. But literally if you think there’s not a lot of black people in Fairfield you should drive to a similar neighborhood in Cary and see how many black people there are. I stand corrected, maybe it’s Cary that you don’t know as opposed to Durham. Fairfield is like paradise for black people as opposed to most of Cary.
And I never said that most black people in Durham are upper middle class. I said that out of the triangle, the place that most upper middle-class black people would choose to go, is Durham.
Source: being well off and black in the triangle for almost 40 years.
Fyi - there are a LOT of events and social stuff in durham catering to upper middle-class black people. You just don’t know about them because clearly you’re not black. That’s why I was telling the original poster, listen to what black people say about the triangle and take the opinion of white people with a grain of salt. That’s all!

Suggesting that the OP be skeptical of the opinions of others because of the color of their skin only contributes to the “the south is racist” stereotype mentioned earlier in this thread.
Let’s try to treat everyone equally, regardless of the color of their skin.
