I watch because it seems the most local, friendly and digestible first thing in the morning, but many of them make mistakes all the time and a female newscaster that always struck me as bored did this:

Yup, can't resist texting during a 30 second story. Maybe they think no one is watching at 7am on Saturday.

I do like the personalities of the weekday people and the friendly banter they have going on.

Plus there's some new guy that's been popping up here and there, maybe he's the one who is going to replace Bill Leslie. Very easy on the eyes.

I like them in general, but all have their pros and cons.

The thing that I've noticed over the past several months is that they are now starting almost EVERY sentence with "BREAKING NEWS". Once you notice it, you can't unnotice it.

Kinda like the boy who cried wolf, if there really was breaking news, I would not know to stop and listen.

WRAL is terrible. Kinda like Behr paint. Advertised as the best but spend some time with it you realize it's garbage. I see Fishel is on a hiatus until end of March. Hopefully rehab will work for him this time.

A few months ago the live camera caught her goofing off with her hair pulled down over her face with a pair of glasses over that. She went into a scramble when she realized she was live

I'm guessing you're joking, but I could see it. Sometimes he comes on the air looking completely disheveled. Hair all messed up like he fell asleep in his office chair.

WRAL's Greg Fishel out on medical leave until March | News & Observer

I thought maybe he ran out of bad puns and took a month off to regroup.

As cheesy and quirky as he is though, he's a great weatherman. I hope he's back soon and he recovers from whatever it is.

Haha she sounds like fun honestly. Way too many serious people these days.

Gina Benitez is leaving next month so probably doesn't care much about how she comes off if she's caught doing "whatever" on break. I was watching the noon news years ago in NY and they came back to the anchors from a story faster than they obviously anticipated. They were spinning around in their chairs - it was hilarious. As was the looks on their faces when they realized they were live.

I didn't catch what they said about Fishel last night. So he's gone for a month or so? I think he's become a little nasty lately...little uncomfortable digs here and there that many probably didn't take too kindly to.
