this California girl misses swimming outdoor? Millbrook is nice but just not the same..any pools out their with parks and rec departments? I loved Optimist but closed for another pool as they put on retractable roof.

I think most of the outdoor pools around here are only outdoor in the summer. Most open around Memorial Day weekend. Besides Millbrook there is also Optimist and Candler (both have a "bubble" which comes off in summer). Candler is not a public pool but for a fee I believe it still has lap swimming. ALso Ridge Road and Lake Johnson. My mother used to lap swim there in the summer and she would go early when the pool was open for lap swimmers only. She always mentioned how nice it was to swim and be surrounded by trees.

There are tons of outdoor pools in the City....do you want one that is opened right now? Once the weather gets warm, the City's outdoor pools, such as Ridge Road, will open. There are tons of swim clubs.
For outdoor pools open right now, there may be some but they would be membership organizations. Public pools wouldn't staff a pool off season.
We belong to the University Club and its outdoor pool is open year round for adult lap swimming. But it is rarely used.
