Raleigh.......Rocky Mount?
My husband is being transferred to Rocky Mount, and from what I have read on these forums that is a horrible place to live especialy with children and we have three. Most of his work will be in Raleigh but we do not want to be in the city. I was just wondering if anybody could suggest some small towns with good schools and people. We are looking to rent a home for now, any feed back would be great.

can i ask where you are from? i am from NJ and to me Raleigh is "city" only in name because it's like a suburb to me in look and feel. i think Raleigh would be a great place to live.

We lived in a small subdivision that is part way b/w Spring Hope and Bailey (near 581/97). We loved being in the country, but still having (friendly) neighbors. I agree - I wouldn't bring my children into Rocky Mount (and that's why we moved out of the Spring Hope school district). We had several ways to go to Raleigh, and it took us 30 minutes (in good traffic) to get to North Hills Mall.
Our house is on the market (we relocated due to jobs in PA...yeah, mountains!!), you are welcome to IM us if you are interested or would like the inside scoop on the area, especially with children!
