I can comment on Spelios at Preston Corner , Cary.
Go for gentle dental treatment but keep watch on your account $$ balance.
I have found Dr Jennifer Matthews and staff to be professional and caring in the dental work they provided to me
- but I've had problems with the book-keeping, discovering they were crediting only part of the the Insurance payments back to my account balance. My approaches to the Accountant were brushed aside until I used the weight of my Insurance company to get proper adjustment made. This is through Jan-Mar 2008.

My dental experiences are not extensive having been with Preston Dental Center Cary NC for 15 years. I had always felt there abilities to be good and caring - until recently when it semed to fall off somwhat, but I moved on when they were not in plan with the ehaltcare insurance provided by my employer.

Spelios tried to take me for several thousand dollars when I went in....went back to my old dentist in CH and he was amazed. Wish he took insurance. Anyway, found a new one that does take insurance and she also said that Spelios was trying to take my money with un-needed and possibly dangerous diagnosis. Do not go there!!!!

Many dentists in the insurance plans make up for the lower negotiated fees by selling you more services than you really need.

Try Dr. Devine or Dr. Campbell at Howarth Family Dental in Raleigh or Cary for honest treatment plans.

They file insurance for you but are not "in network" for any plans.

Dental insurance may not be very good in NC.

This is not the first time Dr. Devine's name has popped up (I've been on the prowl for a dentist for awhile.) Is he expensive? I worry that because he's in Cary it means it will cost me. His receptionist called and left a message. She was very sweet.

No, we've used him for 12 years.

He also works in the Capital Blvd office.

He tries to give you the most economical solution for your dental needs.

Dr. Campbell just moved here from MI, and I like her work too.

They did the same thing to us, which is one reason we switched to another dentist. Granted, some of the work they listed was needed, but nothing even close to everything they had listed on the "Treatment Plan".

We also had problems getting them to clean our teeth because of some unfounded baseless issues with our gums, but our insurance company still got billed for a dental exam even though our teeth were not cleaned.

Stay away from Spelios.....!

I go to Dr. Walter Rohner at North Raleigh Dental Care. Welcome to North Raleigh Dental Care. He is fantastic, has great "chairside" manner, is funny, and conservative...meaning he won't tell you that you need thousands of dollars of work when you don't. I was thrilled to find him!
