Hi everyone,

Is all of North Raleigh safe crime wise? What is the zip code in N Raleigh? And are the home prices in N. Raleigh much lower then Cary or Apex?

Our budget on a home is up to 290,000. We were hoping for a 4 bed 2 bath, at least 2000sf home. Good schools within 30 mins of the RTP.

I been looking on realtor.com but I have no clue what zip code to use.

Thank you 😊

It's relatively safe, but not really any cheaper than Cary or Apex. Some zip codes of interest would be 27617, 27613, and 27615 (in that order from RTP on out)

We live in N. Raleigh 27614 zip. It's a huge area called Wakefield near Wake Forest. Great schools, lots of stuff around, golf course, low crime, etc. Lots of kids running around playing. A little further from RTP though

North Raleigh covers a large area with multiple zip codes. It's a generally safe area. I would say house prices aren't much different than Apex or Cary.

I live in 27614 (North Raleigh) and the crime stats are pretty low. I love the location. However your inventory will be very limited in the $200K -$290K range for SFH's. You will see on the crime maps that as you move more East (crossing Capital Blvd to the East) crime stats are much higher.

You can try 27612 as well. It's south of 540 but still North Raleigh.

I think that you can find something in north Raleigh in the 290K range but it will likely be older, need some sort of updating, of questionable quality or in some sort of less than ideal location: near a busy road, under the flight path of the airport, etc.
290K is not going to get a new or updated home of that size in a good location.

you can get 2,200 sqft 4 beds for $265K on average in what we would call North Raleigh. There's been 47 sell and 29 under contract - and only 9 for sale - over the last 90 days.

Anything under $400K in Wake County west of US1 on your map is going to be gone in 14 days. Hire a Realtor to help you.

Somewhat typical in North Raleigh...$245,000 gets you a 3 bedroom/2.5 bath/2 story home with a screen porch, small l/4 lot, 1 car garage, built in 2000.

Because North Raleigh has a shortage of land, anything brand new is going to cost you $450,000 and above.

Agree...you need a RE Agent to help. Homes are selling in desirable areas in a matter of days, if not hours!
