My wife has had a terrible cough for many months. She has asthma, allergies, and also Celiac disease. She has an allergist, but he does not seem to be helping her with the cough. . . just prescribing different drugs to see if something else will work. She's had imaging tests done on her lungs, and there are no issues. She'd like to try a pulmonologist next. She works up near the UNC REX hospital on Lake Boone Trail, and we live southeast of Cary, so anything in that general area would be great. Thanks.

This is going to sound crazy but check in with a GI doc as well....it may be reflux cough. My sister spent a solid year going nuts with my nephew when he was a kid to all the doctors you named and guess what, reflux cough.

Dr. Ahuja at Rex is awesome. Highly recommend him and it’s not a bad drive form southern wake. I had a bad cough last year that wouldn’t go away and he was super helpful.

Yes. I forgot to mention that. She also has acid reflux, so that has already been considered. Thanks for reminding me.

I would make an appt with Dr. Narahari GI doc in Raleigh. Get an upper endoscopy and rule out reflux next. Next, I would make an appt with UNC pulmonology specialty clinic at Meadowmot. These are all top notch docs that know what they are doing. I have worked with all of them.
