My husband I are buying a house in N. Raleigh off of Falls of Neuse Rd near 540. We currently live in Cary, and I have been attending Crosspointe Church regularly since last fall. I really love how open and welcoming the church is - it's like a breath of fresh air compared to what I grew up with. I especially like the more liberal attitude and nonjudgemental feel (ie., if your beliefs are different than conservative fundamentalists) that the church has. The two pastors take the time out to explain passages and include different meanings using the language of the original text and historical context to gain deeper meaning. Both have great teaching styles infusing a little humor with humility to create a very relatable and powerful message. Also, the contemporary music is awesome - uplifting and meaningful.
However, when we move in the next month or two, Crosspointe will be at least 20 minutes (with toll) to 30 minutes (without the toll) away. I would really like to get involved with my church family and I just don't see myself being able to make that commute work to be able to do things beyond their Sunday services. So with that being said, does anyone know of other churches in the Raleigh area that have the same vibe and feel of Crosspointe? I've been looking around without much luck. Lifepointe Church and Croassroads Fellowship seems like potentials.

Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated
If you really like Crosspoints that much, just zip on down 540 Sunday morning.
ucctgg - My point is that to take 540, the fastest route I will have to go through the toll portion of the road. I'm trying to avoid the toll/find something closer to my new home where I can involved more than just the Sunday service (ie - I would be going there probably more than once a week). Hence why I'm looking for a similar church in the North Raleigh area.
I attended a funeral a few weeks ago at Crossroads Fellowship Church on Millbrook Rd. It was different Check out their web site.
"The two pastors take the time out to explain passages and include different meanings using the language of the original text and historical context to gain deeper meaning."
I briefly attended Crossroads and found that the sermons were a little more surface level and didn't include that sort of depth like the OP described they wanted.
If you have a transponder on your windshield the toll from North Raleigh to the 540 exit at NC55 is 65 cents each way.
Many people travel to Crosspointe from the Southern terminus of 540 and beyond. They pay $2.24 each way with a transponder. We drive 25 minutes and pay 68 cents each way to travel to our church on 540 and we do it more than once a week. If you love your church, $1.30 round trip should not be stopping you IMO.

That ought to be helpful for the OP. It was only a funeral I attended anyway.
