We use Craisins. I though you could get those at any store with a supermarket. They come in huge bags. I like making a spinach salad.

It includes...
-Baby Spinach Leaves
-Toasted walnuts that I coarsely chop
-Craisins brand dried cranberries
-Blue Cheese or Mediterranean flavored Feta Cheese
-Ken's Brand Rasperry Vinegarette Lite

Have you tried Foster's Market in Durham? Some of their salads rotate so if they don't currently have it you might ask when they will have it.

The orange flavored cranberries are a staple in my kitchen. The dried cherries are another favorite.

You might want to check the Fresh Market also.

I know you said you tried Super Target, but they have a great chicken/walnut/dried cherry salad w/goat cheese.
I also agree w/others on Trader Joe's.

Harris Teeter sells it in the deli in the cold case. The thing is that it may not be available every day because the people in the deli have to make it and there is usually some lag time.

It's Hans Kissle, right? Welcome to Hans Kissle (http://www.hanskissle.com/products/specialtysalads.php - broken link)

I liked the potato salad too. The company is out of Haverhill MA. I didn't realize some of those deli products were local.

My lazy self would probably buy chicken salad from the deli and throw in my own cranberries and walnuts. But it probably wouldn't taste quite the same. Their cranberries look different than Craisins. Hmmm....

A tip for plumping up dried fruits a little before putting them in foods is to soak them in orange juice. May be a good tip if you think craisins are just too dry?
