Less desirable schools and being on the wrong side of Raleigh for most. It’s also kind of run down feeling which most people don’t want. At least that is how it felt to me when I’ve been.
Clayton seems farther. If you drive from Raleigh to Clayton you'd almost go through Garner. Even if you bypassed Garner altogether you're still be driving a lot of miles to get to Clayton.
I would guess that Fortify has had a lot to do with it.
