We are really watching our finances and looking for great, inexpensive meals.
What are your favorite restaurants with affordable fare?
We travel all over the area so neighborhood doesn't matter, just looking for recs

For a filling meal that you will get your vitamins meat, vegetable, bread, dessert I would suggest K&W Cafeteria. K&W Cafeterias Raleigh NC (http://www.kwcafeterias.com/Raleigh.html - broken link)

I just ate there on Easter Sunday and I barely notice the line due it moves so fast.
I never have complaint there except this time the cornbread was a little dry.

If you are looking for something to fill you up other than a burger and fries this is place to go. Some days you can get a meal for 6 bucks to 8 bucks. I generally spend around 20 bucks for two. No servers to tip even though they are nice to refill your tea.

East Coast Wings is really inexpensive. It is in the shopping center in Cary at Maynard & Harrison. They have a good selection (wings, sandwiches, burgers, etc) and there is a tv and a bar area.

I love love love Weaver Street Market's hot foods bar for inexpensive meals.

The Weaver Street Market Cooperative

They have a great selection of dishes and you pay by the weight of your plate. I'm usually able to get a delicious lunch for $4.50 tops!

Backyard BBQ Pit in Durham, a family owned, hole-in-the wall piece of Southern pit BBQ heaven (closed on weekends). (Not intending to start a regional Que preference war. We like all varieties in our family and will be going to the Q Shack (Texas style) this weekend!)

We try and avoid places where you get waited on. That is an easy way to cut out 5 bucks.

Have you ever tried Restaurant.com (http://www.restaurant.com/)? (broken link) Pair that up with a promotion code from a site like Ben's Bargains (Ben's Bargains - Bargains, Coupons, Freebies), such as this one below, and you've got some fairly cheap eats.

Restaurant.com has 60% off their coupons with coupon code GENIUS [Exp 3/31]. This has reduced the price of their $25 Dining Certificates to just $4 for most restaurants and areas. Fine print applies for many of the certificates, such as minimum 4 entrees, etc
