There was nothing plausible about the owl theory. Nothing. Simply a case of defense attorneys doing what they do. Actually insulting to anyone with an average IQ or better.

The defense never raised the owl theory at trial, iirc. That was a 3rd party that raised that as a possibility

Correct. His neighbor who was an attorney hatched the silly theory.

The prosecution proved its case and got a conviction. It's just that that slimeball Duane Deaver was involved in the trial and that gave Peterson an opening to find a loophole that allowed him to get out of prison. He is no Greg Taylor, but he rode the coattails of that case pretty hard.

Was the prosecuting team dirty? Probably. Does that make Peterson"not guilty"? Probably not. If I was on the jury, I would have had a very hard time not sending him to prison. I think he's guilty.

As to the feather thing: they claim there was ONE microscopic feather particle in her hair. Attacked by an owl, and only ONE microscopic feather particle? That bird cleaned up his evidence like a pro.

The creepiest/eeriest/saddest aspect of the documentary was that his BIGGEST defenders where his adopted daughters from Germany..... and he likely killed their birth mom and their adopted mom.

Someone on the TV forum speculated that the younger daughter, Martha, is actually MP's daughter. No way to know that, I guess, but it would create a motive for the Germany murder.

Anyone that has actually seen raptors in action would be insulted by the comment. Owls are virtually silent when they fly.

Maybe in the open but in a contained small stairwell ? I would assume there would have been lots of banging going on between raptor and walls. Anyway I spent many days in that Durham courtroom during the trial and I respected the performance of Freda Black and sorry she is gone. It's just a crying shame that our justice system lets loopholes free sick cold blooded killers like Peterson out.
