After several suggestions, I started looking on Realtor.com for houses in Creedmoor. And, there are a lot of them. At first I thought it was just new growth building, but I see a lot of "not new" homes for sale also.
I realize that a lot of homes for sale would benefit my "buying" opportunities, but I'm concerned there might be an issue that an outsider would not be aware of. Can anyone tell me why there are so many houses for sale in Creedmoor? Is it because of foreclosures, or possibly the Bio Plant issue? Thanks. |

There's only 131 houses for sale in Creedmoor, is that a lot these days?
![]() I think there are some older subdivisions that have had houses for sale for a long time because people want to buy new houses in new developments. This is not a highly developed area right now, so there are not a lot of options to go out to eat or shop, that might turn some off. We either go to Wake Forest or Oxford to do our major shopping. They do have two Food Lions, but those are your only choices. The negatives - to me - are also the positives. Since it is not developed as much as other areas, it's quiet and peaceful and relatively crime free. There are a couple of restaurants in town that are really good and the people have always been cordial and welcoming to us (even though we are from Los Angeles) To us it doesn't take long to get anywhere, but some might not like driving an extra ten minutes to work or shopping. I have not heard of too many forclosures up here, but I am sure there are some, just like everywhere else. Also, the Biolab is not a done deal and it looks like we are putting enough pressure on them so that they won't build here. If they do build the biolab here, the issues would effect all of Raleigh, not just Creedmoor/Butner. Oh and there are not many places left where you can find a decent size house for under 200K, and Creedmoor is one of them. Just my thoughts. |

Thanks.
I guess if all 131 houses stay on the market less than a year, then maybe it's not a lot. I'm not familiar with the area so I don't know how quickly those houses sell. Is there a lot of shopping and restaurants available in Oxford? |

They probably think they can make a little more off of selling their house now since people are looking at the area more closely. I've considered moving near there as well. Seems like a nice are, but far away.
