Bartaco — like the food. Hate the level of noise. I can stand some loudness in a restaurant, but they turn the music up to club levels so you have to shout to your table companions. It's loud enough that it makes me not want to go back, but I did love the food.
Thank you. Another place I can add to my 'Don't set foot in the door' list.
We CAN'T stand too much noise in a restaurant. DH wears hearing aids, and I have superwoman hearing (medically tested and documented). It's great fun around OUR house.
It might be tolerable if you sit outside. I've been inside both times I've gone and both times it was loud enough that it was uncomfortable. I rarely make or leave comments, but I did both times. First time I wrote it on their suggestion card and the second time I actually spoke to the manager when he came by the table.

We didn't have much noise at Bartaco, North Hills, last Saturday for lunch.
But, an establishment with "Bar" in the name, and no draft beer?
What's up with that?
And, the service was a bit slow and a bit awkward.
Didn't see much compelling reason to go back.
I went on Thursday night and it was noisy. I don’t think it’s the right place for a quiet dinner, but a fun place to go have drinks and dinner with friends.
We went to Fresh Levant this week (well...we go a couple times a week). I got my usual Tawook grilled chicken pita sandwich which has the BEST pistachio herb sauce. I always get their soup with it which changes daily it seems. My favorites so far are their cauliflower tomato and their turmeric soup. Hubby likes their salmon BUT loves the sauce that comes with the other fish entree (can't remember what type of fish that is). The roasted brussels sprouts are great too and have a delicious jalapeno relish! I just wish they would put more of it on :-) And for dessert my favorites in order are the cappuccino cake, lemon vanilla cake and the cheesecake cake!
Is the bartaco at North Hills different than the one in Chapel Hill? I know people love the one in CH but I've heard mixed reviews about the one at North Hills.

It's a chain, so they are owned by the same company. I imagine the mixed reviews have to do with the fact that they are newly opened and working out kinks. They have been super busy since they opened.

I've only been to the CH one and wasn't impressed per earlier comments. Didn't even know there was one in Raleigh until reading it here!
Vit Goal Tofu Restaurant (Korean, but not "Korean BBQ"). No website, so you'll have to risk it. Easy place to stop on your way up to Durham from the airport.
