With my insanely high deductible (and hubby getting into the Medicare donut hole, I've extensively researched cash and retail prices. (Retail prices applied to the Medicare donut hole.).

For the vast majority of generics, Wal-Mart. Costco is usually very close in price. It's even less than mail order from the insurance company. In one case of an expensive drug for DH, Costco is literally $175 cheaper than walmart.usually

Neither has goodies, except for saving money.

Costco is great. Membership not needed.


Publix has some near-free specials all the time.


And, for the real pricey stuff, www.planetdrugsdirect.com saved my about $14K over three years in pre-Medicare days when employer's prescription plan "benefit" was crazy-high.


So many drugs are actually manufactured overseas
