And Chapel Hill's make up days are Yom Kippur and the day before Thanksgiving. Two more days of school that my kids will miss.
Wow, I am in Wake and they closed Thursday and Friday. We still have off Yom Kippur but our make up days are Saturday October 13th and Halloween. I am totally in favor of Halloween but not so much in favor of the Saturday. I think we will miss it.

Not only a Saturday but a full day Saturday (unlike year round 1/2 Saturday’s).
Also feel bad for the teachers and staff.
I really don’t understand since this is a State of Emergency, why these two days cannot be excused by WCPSS. Or use another teacher work day or make the early release days full days instead.
The state needs to change the laws about makeup days/minimum number of days of school. The students ain't learning nothing anyways on those makeup days, they're just doing busy work. Just a waste of time and money all around

I never understood this either.
CHCCS even has inclement-weather days built in to the school year (they schedule 185 days instead of the standard state-mandated 180)...and they STILL make up those days every time. Stupid.
