Now waiting on my employer. I really don't want to have to set my alarm only to see we finally decided to not open, .....at 5:30 am. Wouldnt be the first tine they waited until some people were already on the way to the office, to call it.

I think thats unnecessarily snarky. He also told people to watch the weather forecast and dress warmly. What do you expect him to say? That kind of stuff is very typical. SC's storm evacuation information reminds people to lock their house when they leave.
I agree. Used to hear the same warnings living in NY, and invariably some idiot will attempt to heat their home in such a way as to poison their family with CO2 or burn the place down.
There was an article in Long Island's newspaper today about some people that had to be rescued from tidal waters on the north shore. Why? They typed the wrong address into their GPS and kept driving right into the water as they looked for their destination. Three people in the car, no one said, "hey let's stop before we drive into that there bay." (Aside from all this they were about 50 miles from the town they actually wanted to be in).
