Yes, absolutely.

Oh, you mean with the snow? Yeah...95 will suck during an accumulation storm.

Probably so...driving from NJ to the Triangle will most likely be very difficult, if not impossible, on Sunday.

I'm gonna go Monday off for sure and I'll agree Tues off too. 2 hr delay on Weds sounds about right too. Depends on how much melting we get during the day.

Hello all -

I'm in Minnesota and am leaving on a flight to Raleigh tomorrow to 'audition' it for snowbirding after I retire. My return flight is supposed to leave Raleigh on Sunday. Yes, I do appreciate the irony....

I don't mind spending an extra day or two in your lovely area but I will be miserable if I'm sitting alone, bored, and hungry in my Raleigh AirB&B rental. My question is this - I have an old college buddy in Holly Springs who might be willing to take me in. Do you think Ubers or Lyfts would run between there and the airport? And if so, would they operate in the kind of weather you're expecting on Sunday?

I'm wondering if I should postpone the trip; that might be advisable but also very expensive.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Uber/Lyfts definitely run between Holly Springs and the airport, but depending on the time you leave and when the heaviest of winter precipitation is falling it could be slim pickings to get a driver. Of course, what do I know, you might have plenty of drivers willing to do it.

Sure there would be Ubers and Lyfts between Holly Springs and the airport, but I would not be surprised if they don't run on Sunday in a snowstorm. Your flight may well be canceled at RDU. I think someone up thread said they were getting notices about their Southwest flight.

I'm on a Delta flight. I wouldn't be surprised if the flight gets delayed or canceled; problem is that decision might not be made until Saturday. Right now, it's still a go. It's a direct flight, and to balmy Minnesota, so maybe not as likely to be impacted as flights destined to the east coast.

Ice melt is still available at the Home Depot that I frequent. Wouldn't count on any being there tomorrow.

Looks like we'll have the dreaded "melt and re-freeze" for at least a few days following the storm. Temps in the 40's during the day, 20's at night.
