The grocery store at Maynard Crossing used to be a Kroger store and Harris Teeter took it over when Kroger left the Triangle. The store closed in August 2018, and besides the pharmacy opening, there's been no mention of when the remodel will be complete and the grocery part of the store open.
Anyone hear anything or read anything about that?
5 months and counting seems like an especially long time to have a grocery store closed.
Same with the store in Durham NorthPointe, only the pharmacy is operating. While Kroger was doing store closing sale last summer, I asked the cashier when it opens as Harris Teeter. She said, "next spring". I was shocked that it would take that long to reopen as they hastily closed Kroger, I was expecting to hear something like October. I asked what she was gonna do until the next store opens, she just shrugged. Sad. I really miss Kroger. Now nearby FL is really thriving. Sorry not a solid info but that's what I heard. It's not spring yet, so we shall wait?
Ex Kroger cashier told me they had to wait one year to reopen for some contractual reason. They have finally started some work at the old Maynard location. Plenty HTs around so not excited.
I also lament the loss of Kroger here and miss some of their products. They weren’t ‘fancy’ but they were very serviceable grocery stores; I do most of my shopping at HT or Food Lion
I’ve driven past all four of the Durham stores that HT acquired as well as the stores in Cary and Apex. The only store that I have seen HT doing any work on was the one in Apex (they’re pretty much gutting the interior) but I seen that aisle gondolas and refrigeration equipment have been removed from the Cary store.
Also, Harris Teeter has additional stores in Virginia that they have to finish as well; They bought 10 Farm Fresh stores (Kroger bought 8 and Food Lion bought 3) a mere 2-3 months before the Kroger closings were announced and only 1 or 2 of them are open.
In my opinion, they should have kept at least some of the Fuel centers open during the transition period; The only thing that needs to be done at the Fuel Centers are signage and decal changes (and now with HT virtually adopting Kroger’s Fuel points program, it would give HT shoppers more locations to use them).

I looked in the vestibule and seen that they ripped out the wine section and put in a new wall. Also, they had storage containers in the store’s Parking Lot
I haven't seen any activity at any of the closed Krogers that I commute past for various reasons (upper Creedmoor, Falls of Neuse, Durham near Bean Traders), other than the one on lower Creedmoor that is becoming Crunch Fitness.

That's good to know. Thanks. I haven't set foot in that shopping center since the Kroger left, so I'll be glad to see something going back in there, at least hopefully/eventually. I hope they repave that parking lot, though. Pushing a cart over that was a chore.
