Better than the alternative, I know a guy who built in a town outside Detroit where the inspector was in cahoots with the tradesmen and passed things that weren't even close to code.

But yeah, total BS. Code is code, if you want to exceed that is your prerogative.

Oh wouldn't it be nice for a place to have ALL my books and ALL my clothes without having to dig them out and switch them over seasonally. But at 800 square feet and one 3x5 closet, this is only a fantasy.
