It's beautiful around Christmas! I go there whenever I can, it's not somewhere
you go every week but it's nice to be taken care of so well. I ate at the Capital Grille
a couple of weeks ago. I didn't think the service was as good as the barn and it was
quite a bit more expensive I thought. I love the Angus Barn!

It's not really about the food. I'm not a big steak person. But the atmosphere of the place is awesome, especially if you have kids. My kids are totally enthralled by all the elf children and gingerbread, apples the trees etc etc. The food isn't "amazing", but it's good and the whole thing is enjoyable.
Never had a bad experience there. Went there once with a friend who had just gotten out of the military and they bent over backwards for him. Gave him a free bottle of wine to thank him for his service and he got to sign something. All other times eating there have been great, too. I've always loved their food and hospitality.
My other half and I decided to try our luck one Valentine's Day. We waited for a table for about 45 mins. For a walk up on that holiday was pretty incredible but it's not impossible!
I agree, in the main dining area you're paying a premium for the experience. The food is good but it might not be great. On the other hand, you have access to the best wine list in the Triangle if not the entire state.
Folks say the Chef’s and Captain’s tables do provide superb food, but of course they are more expensive and seating is very limited.
If you accept that you're going to pay a premium for a better dining experience, Angus Barn is awesome. If you're someone (like me) who hates paying $50 on up per person for a meal, no place is truly worth it.
Angus Barn is a great experience and offers perhaps the best service I've ever had (and I've had some). The food is always so very good, the portions generous and the experience remarkably positive. Everyone in my family looks forward to the times we eat there, and we only eat there to celebrate milestone events (e.g., graduations, anniversaries). And I brace myself in advance for the hefty bill while reminding myself that it's a rare treat for us all.
I think everyone who can afford to should dine there at least once to see what it's all about.
What do people think is the best steakhouse in the Triangle if not Angus Barn?
Probably Sullivan’s (though shoutout to Vinnie’s).
