I'm not sure how long their lease is with Cobb County, maybe 30 or 35 years, whatever it is, this would be funny and sad, but after that lease is up there, the city of Atlanta tries to lure them back downtown and pay for and build them a new ballpark where the Georgia Dome was in 2050, stranger things have happened!
Falcons were 9th in NFL attendance last year, Braves were 11th. Worst professional sports city? Nah.
Is that total attendance or percent of capacity?
EDIT TO ADD - I would also note that I am including "team success" as part of the "Worst" designation I gave out and I fully realize the fans don't really control that.
I’ve long thought that the only real way to have an MLB team here is for the Bulls to try to move up as an expansion team. You have instant cache and reconginition. They might be able to expand the stadium but who knows. Of course people would have to to drive all the way out to Durham so anyone in Raleigh will immediately crap on the idea.

Raleigh resident here who buys a Bulls mini ticket package each year and drives out for 10-15 games each year

Too small of a footprint to upgrade DBAP.
Being a MiLB nerd, the only AAA ballpark that was built to be upgraded to a major league one was Pilot Field (now Sahlen Field), which is in Buffalo and opened in 1988. At its max seating capacity it held 21,050 (holds 16,907 now, which is still huge), and was designed so an upper deck could be added to bring the capacity to MLB levels.
Supposedly Buffalo was in the running for a 1993 expansion team, but lost out to Miami and Denver.
Even the beautiful new BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, with one of the best views of a city skyline in all of baseball, major and minor, can't be upgraded without having to use the streets surrounding the ballpark, which is a shame, but it is what it is.
