While using Google Map (at the street level) to look at homes in the CH area..
I've noticed that there don't appear to be many folk who are interested in
planting ornamentals or annuals or anything around their homes.
I'm an avid gardener and really enjoy tending the yard.
Is it because of the trees everywhere..the ground not conducive?
What gives?

I'm not sure where you are looking, but a lot of people have azaleas blooming in their yards. Daffodils just finished blooming, so I for one have a lot of stalks around my mailbox. It is too early for annuals; I bought some today but I'm not going to risk planting them until we get past the predicted 32 degree temperatures on Monday night. I'm not much of a gardner, but I'd say most folks have a little something growing. You may just be hitting the awkward stage between various types of blooms.

That truck went through in August during a drought so you don't see the area at its best. Many of the homes are in the woods so some don't have tons of landscaping but many others do. We have azaleas, camilias, and perennials in bloom now.

Atlantic Garden off of Atlantic Ave has a huge Orchid greenhouse you
might like. There are lots of gardners here... great nurserys all around. You might ask
them where to get a greenhouse.
