We went downtown this weekend to have dinner at Sullivans and parked my Ford truck on the public street in an area that did not have any signs. When we returned from eating we noticed a parking ticket on it. The ticket referenced "bus/truck parking on public street".

Has anyone else ever had this happen? Does Raleigh really discriminate against people that drive trucks? Can you only park a car or suv (which basically has the same body frame as a truck) on the street now?

Could be a bogus ticket, last I heard tickets are not placed on the vehicle but sent though U.S. Postal Service.

It is a real ticket. I verified it online. I am going to call them but wanted to see if anyone else had this experience before I call.

What size is this "Ford Truck" and could it be confused with a commercial vehicle?

Here is the ordinance: https://library.municode.com/nc/rale...T_S11-2176TRPA

I've definitely received a parking ticket in Raleigh before on my car.

If it was an F-350, that is considered a 1-ton truck, and exceeds the 3/4 ton provision of the city ordinance.

Does it have weighted plates? Or is just a basic F-150?

I park my pickup truck downtown all the time, and I've never received a parking violation, so I'd really know the answer.

That's one reason I never go downtown.....it's not worth the hassle.

Hopefully the OP will respond to the questions of the type of truck. Would be helpful.
