For those interested in the knowledge of who is behind our successful neighbor Epic Games. I would suggest reading the following two articles in their entirety.

WARNING! Scary stuff, very Orwellian. Not for those who like wearing rose colored glasses.

How Tencent Changed 'Fortnite' Creator Epic Games' Fortunes

https://www.investopedia.com/news/ho...ames-fortunes/

“Tencent bought a 40 percent stake in Epic at a valuation of about $825 million back when “Fortnite” was still in the early stages of development. The Chinese investment holding conglomerate’s roughly $330 million outlay was used by Epic as a platform to bankroll some major changes. ”

China’s Tech Giants Have a Second Job: Helping Beijing Spy on Its People

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wsj...ing-1512056284

“The Chinese government is building one of the world’s most sophisticated, high-tech systems to keep watch over its citizens, including surveillance cameras, facial-recognition technology and vast computers systems that comb through terabytes of data. Central to its efforts are the country’s biggest technology companies, which are openly acting as the government’s eyes and ears in cyberspace.

Companies including Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., Tencent Holdings Ltd. and Baidu Inc., are required to help China’s government hunt down criminal suspects and silence political dissent. Their technology is also being used to create cities wired for surveillance.”

Epic has been very clear that Tencent is not involved in Epic's operations and aren't in the building with them. Would be quite the scandal if that turned out not to be true. Tencent is an investor in Epic and has a couple of board seats, but Sweeney is the controlling shareholder and Epic appoints the majority of the board.
