I have my own frames, and just want lenses made for them. Can anyone recommend a shop?

Simple. +1.25 readers.

Most shops seem to only want to sell me a full set of glasses.

Looking for alternatives. Cheaper than LensCrafters may be OK, too.

Costco has been my optical fave for years, and their refund policy works well!

Yeah. Unfortunately, I have Silhouettes, and they specifically reject them.
Very very nice frames, and I want to reuse them.

Mike, I THINK www,glassesetc.com will do them. (I'm jealous you're only wearing 1.5's. I'm up to 4.0 and well on my way to getting 4.5's!!)

I can't suggest anywhere specific, but i am surprised you're having an issue. I've had lenses made for "bring your own frames" many, many times over the 50 years that I've been wearing glasses, in lots of different places, and never had an issue. Raleigh and or Cary must have a good, independent optician that would do it.

Don't feel bad, I'm wearing readers over my contact lenses that are for near sightedness!

Ask at your ophthalmologist office. They might help a current patient, esp. if you bought the frames there originally.

I keep cheap Foster Grants (or less) 1.5's around for close in work.
1.25 is perfect for driving or computer work.

Cataract removal is a glorious thing.

I bought my last pair of glasses online. They are Oakley frames and I had clear prescription lenses made to fit them. I bought both the frames and the lenses online, but I do not remember the store. If you want to go this route, let me know and I will try to find the store and website for you. They were nearly half the cost of buying them at my eye doctor's office

I have a pair of sunglass frames that are 8 years old, but I really like them. I’ve had Eyemart make new polarized lenses for me twice now.
