Guys, on Monday of this week I went riding on the American Tobacco Trail between Scott King Road in Durham toward Morrisville/Cary up to mile marker 15.50. I later discovered when I got back to my car that my entire bunch of keys were lost. If anyone found a bunch of keys along this path please call 919-442-8055 or reply to this post. Everything is on it, my car keys, keys for my office, etc.

In addition, if anyone knows of a lost & found area for items found along the trail please reach out. Thanks

There's a Facebook group that is fairly active regarding the ATT. I'd recommend posting there as well -- maybe you'll have better luck:

Check with the police too - if i found a bunch of keys on a greenway and got no response on a site like Nextdoor I would probably turn them in there.

Maybe post some flyers on that section of the trail? If they were found by a frequent user you might stand a better chance of connecting with them on the trail than online. Best of luck. That sucks!

Been there done that on the greenway. Fortunately I was with a group of riders and they helped me retrace our route. I was lucky and we found them. I asked a biker coming from the area if he had seen any keys and thankfully he said he had but left them hoping whoever lost them would do exactly what we were doing and retracing our route. Hope you get lucky and find them.

Posted flyers with my phone number on Friday and received a call Saturday from the person who actually found my keys. However, he said he found them at Mile Marker 12 and left them on the gate post near mile marker 13, but they were gone the next day.

With that in mind he is assuming that the Park rangers took it up for safe keeping. My thing is this, does anyone know who is responsible for that section of the trail? Is the entire American Tobacco Trail managed by one county or is it divided up among the counties it traverses?

I am almost there guys ... I just need to hear someone at the opposite end of my phone telling me that they have it in their hands and I can come and get it. Thanks

Since MM13 is in Durham County, I'd contact the
Durham Parks & Recreation Dept
400 Cleveland Street, Durham, NC 27701
Phone: 919-560-4355
If they can't help you directly, I'm sure they'd have gotten enough Lost & Found calls to know where to forward you.

If you go this route and post your information on a flyer, just make sure that your contact information can't be traced back to your house, workplace, or location where your vehicle(s) is. You just want to avoid a less than honest person doing an internet search for that information and having all of your keys. It's not that likely you'd have a problem, but it's good to be careful.

I know this was from a few days ago but I'm hoping someone honest turned them in?
