The vast vast majority of child predators, target kids that they know, or are related to, not random kids. People freaking out about state fairs and bathrooms (HB2), should really be looking at their friends, relatives, and neighbors instead

While being alert and aware of your surroundings is a good thing, but raising kids to be fearful or paranoid about going to McDonald's without a police escort is not. Life happens.....you can't protect everything 100%.

Unless something has changed, guns are banned at the State Fair. Most recent information I can find about it is from 2014.

I'd be worried about far worse than pedophiles at the state fair...that is if I worried about it at all

I think the key words are "subject to" being searched. When we went on Friday morning, they were not searching anyone, though they have been in the afternoon when we left. There are no metal detectors, so anyone could just keep it in their pocket, back of pants, etc. while they are looking through your bag.
