I went Sunday night and they were checking bags and running the metal detectors. I went at lunch today and nothing got checked, not even my coworker's huge tote bag

We walked around for hours on Saturday. I didn't see any hot tubs. Did we miss them?
Maybe in the Expo building, which we didn't enter?

Reading it again, it looks like they meant the NC Mountaineers State Fair that was held in September in the mountains. Here is another article about it with regards to the fair here in Raleigh: https://www.newsobserver.com/news/lo...236487623.html

It does say there is a hot tub vendor at the Raleigh State Fair near the Ferris Wheel.

We lost count of Ferris Wheels, as we weren't doing rides. Maybe 4?

The lawsuits will be breathtaking after the Western NC debacle. No chlorination of hot tub water after initial treatment, so people were exposed late in the Fair?
Deep Pockets Search Protocol now in process, to be sure.

It's near the big Ferris Wheel - The SkyGazer. Four deaths and nearly 100 hospitalized! This is the first I've heard about it. I was just checking the national news to catch up on what happened today and saw the headline "4th death in Legionnaire's outbreak tied to NC state fair" That got my attention!

My sister is a nurse in Asheville and came to visit the Fair with us. I bet we wouldn't have gone near the tubs had we seen them.

The hot tubs used to be between the Scott Building and restaurant row near the Folk Festival tent.

National news outlets have been mis-identifying the legionaries outbreak as having taken place at the "NC State Fair" for weeks. Ugh.
