If it's the area I'm thinking (north of 85 off Guess Rd.), there is a nice Kroger's and Home Depot just down the street from there along with some decent fast food places. Durham Crime Mapper should tell you a bit about called in reports. Of course, stopping by the neighbors with questions is a good thing too.
