Hi - Does anyone know when the results from the Wake County public school 3rd grade AIG in Wake Co schools will be available for parents? I assume that in addition to being evaluated for program selection, that the results are shared w/ parents but I'm really not certain. Thanks.

The CogAT results come back within 4-6 weeks. If your child scored well on one of the 3 tests, they will be invited to take the Iowa test. That’s in November/ early December. If they score well on the Iowa test, you’ll be asked to fill out an application for AIG services toward the end of Quarter 3. AIG services for third grade start in Quarter 4 of third grade. Each school probably has a slightly different schedule, but it's a rough timeline for you. Best wishes to your 3rd grader!

Thanks for the info. I didn’t realize the first step was to score well on 1 (vs all 3) Cogat batteries. That’s good to know. He was added to the 3rd Grade Explorers which he seems to enjoy the extra challenge and specialized learning.

I forget how, but Duke TIP came about at the same time. We found that worthwhile since it allows for the child to take the SAT in middle school. At least I think that was thru TIP <shrug>.
