"CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- Chapel Hill-Carrboro City schools will end the use of drug dog searches, according to a letter from the superintendent.

"We are concerned about the impact on students of dog searches," Dr. Pamela Baldwin said in the letter. "I am hopeful that our education, mental health, and other initiatives -- and the constant vigilance of our teachers and staff -- will prevent an escalation in drug activity on campus."

Her letter was sent to Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the acting legal director of American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina, the president of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP and attorneys."

This is crazy. Just shows you how much power these scum bag lawyers and NAACP have these days. Guns not allowed but drugs are ok. FYI drug over doses last year killed around 70k people in America where guns a little less then 14k (excluding suicides).

One big difference between drug deaths and gun deaths is normally you kill yourself with drugs but someone else kills you with a gun.

Fine - no one really cares. Dog drug searches in schools didn't really yield great results. It's also not good to treat every single student in a school as a suspect and conduct drug searches of personal areas with dogs.

Drug dog enforcement in schools is by nature selective and targeted. The dogs have a short focus span and if scanning lockers can't do them all and if scanning the parking lot at a high school can't target all the cars. School administrators either by themselves or with their resource officer decide on a beginning point. They will usually continue until the dog loses focus.
It is that beginning point that puts some students more in focus than others. It is for you to decide if the individual school will randomly determine a beginning point or decide on a specific targeted area/student.
Gotta begin somewhere and someone has to make that decision.
