I leave in Raleigh .. and I would like to go back to play volleyball too,
The Parks and recreation offer there indoor center to play indoor but I don't have a team My e-mail is <annaiddls@yahoo.com>
if you are in the area and want to start a team you can count with me ..
I myself am an ex volleyball player. Try looking on meetup.com as they have people who meet and play listed in the Raleigh area. I have not joined (yet). There is also someplace in Apex (can't remember the name) that does team sports but as I recall you might have to have a team going into it.
My name is Tom Konopka and I recently moved to Raleigh to pursue a new career. I played volleyball throughout high school and was on a Division-I team in college. I'm currently looking for individuals in the post-high school or post-college age group who are interested in playing. However, I'm looking for competitive players and who would consider their talent at a D-I, D-II, or D-III level (aka, you're at a great-to-excellent level). I'm not narrowing my search to a "team," but to more of a solid group of players who would be interested in meeting up at the various indoor volleyball facilities in and around Raleigh to play some fun yet competitive-level volleyball at least once a week.
I'm in the process of researching gyms to play in, finding leagues and clubs in the area, and recruiting committed players who love the sport of volleyball. If what you're reading sounds like your cup of tea, please contact me!
You all are in luck!
A few years ago I wanted to find some volleyball teams to play with. I went around looking, high and low. Well, I found a few. Go the the indoor volleyball court at Oberlin and Wade Avenue. You can sign up there and some times show up the day a game is scheduled. I also came across some volleyball fields not far from there, outside ones. A bunch of people play there. Can't remember exactly where they where located. They had tons of outside courts with sand.
By the way, if anyone finds an indoor volleyball team playing east of Raleigh, let me know asap! I would love to find something around Clayton/Wendell.
I have played for 20 years in the Triangle, and there is plenty of V'ball around, both indoor and outdoor. Check out these sources:
Durham Parks and Rec.
Raleigh City Parks and Rec.
Cary Parks and Rec.
Chapel Hill Parks and Rec.
All of these have leagues available for every level of play, Co-Rec., men, women, Masters (Over 50), etc.
Also, if you do not have a team put together, most of these resources will take your name and either place you on a team, or they'll contact team captains whose rosters are thin, and offer your name to them.
Raleigh Parks and Rec is looking for teams for an Adult Co-ed League at Roberts Park Community Center. This league was originally advertised for the Fall of 2019, but now it has been pushed back to later in the year. Contact Calvin Mitchell at 919-831-6830 for more information. I have a complete team and we are looking forward to playing your team.
