Default Is furniture really cheaper...

Is furniture really cheaper in NC? If so where would you recommend buying in the Raleigh area?

If you want good made-in-NC furniture, you can probably save by buying in NC (especially in High Point or Hickory). If you want cheap furniture, that is usually made in China and you aren't going to save much buying in NC.

You might also try the search tool. There are lots of threads out there about furniture.

I agree. We bought most of our furniture at Furnitureland South and did save alot over retail.

Rent a U-Haul and drive about 2 hours to High Point. You will save hundreds of dollars especially during the after market sale.

Hickory Furniture Mart has some tremendous deals on furniture. On what would have cost approximately $32,000 retail with so called discounts being applied, we spent $17k @ Hickory with delivery. We spent three days there and by staying at local hotels that offered packages for shoppers along with discount cards, the cost of the hotel was paid for by the discount card! If you need more info, PM me and I'll send you some links.

From personal experience, Furnitureland South is one of the more expensive discount furniture stores. I easily beat their prices without even asking when we were in Hickory.
