Boy am I glad to finally be back at home in Raleigh. I drove up to NJ (Jersey Shore Area) on Friday and it rained the entire way. A rip that usually takes 8 hours took 11! Then we left very early the day after Christmas and hit tons of traffic from DC all the way down to Richmond, VA. Again, the trip took 11 hours. I hate having to drive through Northern Virginia, it is such a nightmare! I can not imagine living there and having to deal with that everyday! I am so happy to be back home in Raleigh and don’t plan on going back north until sometime this summer.

If any of you travel to the Newark, NJ airport regularly and can recommend inexpensive airline carriers the info would be much appreciated! I hope you all had more enjoyable trips this past Holiday Weekend!

Left Christmas Eve morning to Winston-Salem....pretty clear all the way, very few cars. I guess the only place where the traffic even slowed slightly was going past a mall in Greensboro.

Left Winston-Salem Christmas Day to go back to Raleigh, about 5pm. Even more clear that time, very little traffic at all. (Although the number of dumb people driving slow in the middle or left lanes seemed a bit oddly more common than usual. Hope it wasn't the eggnog. Go fig.)
