What impact it will have on surrounding residential communities? e.g. Lennar, Horton Creek, Waterford Estate, etc.?
On one hand, shopping will be convenient & on another, it will increase external traffic & noise.
Any thoughts?

I don't think it will have much of a negative impact other than an increase of traffic on 55, which will hopefully be offset when the 540 extension to Holly Springs is scheduled to open around the same time as Parkside Town Commons.

That's awesome news! Last I heard from a town rep was that it was all still on hold. Good to hear!

I think Parkside Town Commons will be a few years after the 540 extension opens. Progress on 540 is visibly moving forward whereas nothing is happening just yet for Parkside. It will make a massive improvement to the West Cary infrastructure when parkside opens so lets hope work starts soon

They're now targeting a mid to late 2012 opening. Should be a very exciting addition to the area once this opens.

So everyone get's excited about a bunch of already existing in the area stores and yet more overpriced trashy housing cramming in on an already overtraveled HWY 55? Given the overabundance of Commercial Property sitting empty, the bankruptcy's and the lagging home market it just makes great sense to press forward with this!
Thanks for encouraging the idiots to make my commute even worse.

The Carpenter Fire Station/HWY 55 intersection is terrible. Was crossing over HWY55 there last night and the car in front of me was a couple of feet away from being T-boned by a southbound Jeep on HWY 55 (Jeep did not even think about stopping).

Any news on this folks? I didn't see anything online, so I was hoping for some insider info.
This is the only thing I see.

I think the issue is still the closing of the railroad crossing.
