Question ??'s about the South Cary area--Windermere sub-division

Hi Everyone!

My DH and I just purchased a home in the Windermere sub-division in South Cary that we will be moving into in the next few months. We are currently renting a house in downtown Cary and I was just wondering if anyone has any input on the South Cary area. We have a 16 mo daughter so I was wondering if there are any good kid-friendly places to go. Any good restaurant recommendations. Any good shopping places?? Or just any general input on the area!!!

Thanks in advance,
Taryn

I used to live across the street, kind of. We lived in glenmitt stone, which is behind cotswold.......my daughter went to ressurection lutheran preschool when she was 2 and loved it. She met some good friends and had a good time going there, she was only there a year before we moved. Just note, that the "registration" for preschool is usually in january and february, so if it is something you are remotely thinking about, investigate it now!

We regularly went to see trish miller at java blu (holly springs road - down arthur pierce to holly springs road, take a right) and she is a great singer/storyteller for the young ones. Although the place would get packed, get there early, grab a seat and some coffee and hang out. We also loved the pizza at homegrown (holly springs road across the street from sunset ridge subdivision it looks like it is in an office building, but it is on the first floor). We also went to bass lake ale house, which was fine, kid friendly because it is loud and people don't care if your kids are loud, sometimes it would get smokey from the bar.

At crossroads I would go to target and kid to kid (a good consignment store for kids clothes that isn't too expensive and has very good quality clothes. We would also go to the bear rock in crossroads and hang out and have a tea and eat a snack. They were always very welcoming to kids.

I can't think of much else! I am sure more will come to me though. PM me if you have questions.
Leigh
