Goodberry's. There's several in the area. They have a different flavor of the day every day, plus vanilla, and maybe chocolate.

CookOut is my milkshake place. $2.19 for any of about a jillion flavors. Try the Chocolate Malt flavor.

I second cookout...only they call them "fancy's" instead of milkshakes (they're thicker than milkshakes) they also have pretty good burgers and great fries.

My house. I bought an old -fashioned style milkshake machine from Williams-Sonoma a couple years ago and I have perfected the art. I recommend picking one up...think it was less than $75.
Circus, Cookout, Goodberry's are all good stuff too.

I vote that the next meet up be at Sacredgrooves!!! I'll bring the berries for the shakes!

I also have to say that I always thought Goodberries was overrated. I think it's because I grew up on Abbots here in Rochester and if you've ever had it any other frozen custard just seems substandard. Goodberries had that raspberry custard which was something different and intersting; but other than that, nothing special. Much rather have the fancies at cookout..wish they had that up here.

My kids like the milkshakes at Red Robin. I know it's a chain but that doesn't mean they're not good. And I believe the shakes at Mapleview Farms are good too -- I'm not a shake drinker myself but my daughters and hubby are.

Can't believe Mr. Durham here is saying this, but check out the Hayes-Burton Pharmacy (?) in ITB Raleigh's Five Points. Their desserts are just awesome, so I assume they'd have great milkshakes.

Closer to home, we like Maple View Farms. Their original farm store is a pain to get to (unless you're off the I-40 corridor) so we go to the Hillsborough store by the Super WalMart off I-85.

BCR, do you know if the Hayes Barton Pharmacy has Orangeades. I have very fond memories of sitting at a pharmacy counter stool, feet dangling well off the ground, sipping orangeades. Ahhh, I can taste the sugar now.
