I'd imagine the Nash County portions of Zebulon account for a decent portion of the "lookie loos" who've been searching for less expensive real estate near Wake County.

Rocky Mount's mayor is running for congress and seems to be one of the few who aren't going all fire and brimstone...I can't imagine these stats helping him in the primary.

I wanted to like Zebulon and tell people "I hail from Zebulon" like its some other planet, but its really far considering all the things I do are on the west side of 540. A buddy offered to sell me his house at 168k last year. Its apparently gone up 70k in value since then.

Well, be prepared for your taxes to go up. Jails aren't cheap to build or to operate.

Cheap housing might be related to being on "Top 10 lists", and I don't mean the ones in Fortune magazine that are bringing the swarms to Raleigh & Cary, but lists like this one.

During the controversy about moving DMV offices to Rocky Mount, there was walk of a commuter bus service. I don't think it ever happened, and anyway the intent was to bring DMV employees in Raleigh to Rocky Mount, not the other way around.

nono...they got ranked in the top 5 (tied w a spot in Hawaii) for "88% of views from outside the market". Heck, it could have been 100 views total.

WRAL seems like the kind of news station Jim Carrey would work at.
